All Tech Insulation Develops Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) Solution

OLD Technology

NEW Technology from All Tech Insulation

Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) Soulation

Advanced Secondary Containment Poly-X Systems by All Tech Insulation

Background

Samson Recourses, Inc. a large, privately held exploration and production company headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma recruited All Tech Insulation to develop a solution to improving their outdated dated method of secondary containment.

Problem

Comply with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) order, OPA–2004–0003; FRL–7800–2 RIN 2050–AC62, Oil Pollution Prevention and Response; Non-Transportation-Related Onshore and Offshore Facilities.

Solution/Results

All Tech Insulation developed a Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) Solution for Samson Recourses, Inc.  All Tech Insulation provided the technology sealant solution necessary to ensure the project complied with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) order, OPA–2004–0003; FRL–7800–2 RIN 2050–AC62.

Contact an All Tech Insulation engineer today (989-826-9999) to learn how this cutting edge technology from All Tech Insulation will change your view of secondary containment.

Every All Tech Insulation state-of-the-art spray applied Poly-X Containment System provides long-term durability due to an patented formula and application process that creates a solution with extraordinary toughness! Tested for strength and protection in both the laboratory and in real-world conditions to assure the highest level of durability, even under the most extreme use (abuse). Because of this, we are proud to offer a 20 year Limited Lifetime Warranty. Now that’s serious protection!

Poly-X is a family of sealants and coatings that are exceptionally tough and flexible to resist thermal stresses to compensate for substrate cracking or movement and provide impact resistance. These membranes are spray-applied plastic coatings that eliminate all seams regardless of the size of liners, even in low temperatures. These membranes are ideal for protection of metal, steel, polyurethane foams and concrete containment structures, or used for geotextile applications, offering a UV stable and chemical resistant membrane. The 100% solid, VOC free and rapid cured products follow any contour and provide a monolithic containment barrier. Where colorfastness is critical, an alphatic topcoat is recommended for U.V. stability to counter slight color changes or superficial oxidation. Standard colors can be achieved with factory added pigments and dyes.

Poly-X elastomeric linings provide excellent performance in immersion service while being more versatile than conventional sheet systems. These 100% solids abrasion resistant membranes have an excellent adhesion and a low perm rating that prevents degradation of the substrate from chemicals or water.

Main Features*:

  • Resilient and resistant to high abrasion, impact and chemicals

  • Fast cure: can be walked-on in 30 seconds and has no odor and no V.O.C.'s

  • Has a service temperature from  -60ºF to 425ºF

  • Provides leak protection to pipes and vessels

  • Can be spray applied to any thickness in a single application

  • Provides a Durable, Non-Skid Surface with Impact-Absorbing Protection

  • Waterproof, Seamless and Resilient

  • Completely Seals The Area - No Air Gaps, No Drill Holes, No Bolts.

  • Prevents Rust and Corrosion - Allows Natural Drainage

  • Molds to the Precise Contours of Topography

  • Resists Most Chemicals

  • Carries a Limited Lifetime Warranty

  • No VOC’s and Little to No Odor and is 100% solids (e.g. contains no solvent)

  • Spray, Hand Mix and Caulk Grade Materials Available

  • Excellent Resistance to Thermal Shock

  • Weather Tolerant: Cures at -25ºF to >300ºF even in High Humidity

  • Unlimited Mil Thickness in One Application

  • Flexible: Bridges Cracks; will resist cracking as a result of substrate movement

  • Resistant to Various Solvents, Caustics and Mild Acids

  • Low Permeability, Excellent Sustainability

  • Excellent Bond Strengths to a wide variety of substrates and is easy to repair if damaged

  • Some Systems are USDA and Potable Approved.

Possible Applications:

  • Leak proof membranes for chemical storage and/or for underground dump sites, secondary containment sites, and tank farms to prevent leakage or spills of liquid waste or toxic products.

  • Corrosion-proof protection for steel storage tanks, underground pipes, silos, ducts, boats and bridges.

  • Waterproofing and protecting walls, ceilings and roofs.

  • Impervious membrane for tunnels, dykes, ponds, concrete basins, septic tanks and reservoirs.

  • Antiabrasion protective membrane for mining equipment, crushers' truck beds, sand and salt spreaders and heavy machinery.

  • Sealant for cracks (metal, pavement, concrete).

  • Weatherproofing membrane for decorative accessories: rock imitation, statues, etc.

  • Protective encapsulation for polyurethane and polystyrene foams.

Quick and professional application by an approved installer network across North America to assure you that your project is completed correctly, safely and on time. Experience, quality workmanship, integrity and financial stability are our criteria for approving applicators. Best atomization and quality results are obtained using heated plural component high pressure spray equipment incorporating a high pressure impingement type mixing gun. Personnel spraying series are advised to use an approved air make-up unit. The Material Safety Data Sheet and the Society of Plastic Industry Safety Standards must be adhered to.

Sealant and coating systems can be combined with an engineering fabric for support and a 100 percent solids spray applied sealant or coating containment system to form a state-of-the-art flexible chemical resistant and tough containment membrane.  Installation of these systems is fast and easy due to their rapid cure time (30 seconds) and insensitivity to most environmental conditions.

*Please note this is a baseline. It is provided only as a starting point.  Physical properties can be adjusted to meet specific application requirements.  For a deeper discussion on the advantages and benefits, please go to the Sealants PDF section of our Website or contact an All Tech Insulation engineer today (989-826-9999) and let us take the time to understand your specific containment requirements so that we may provide you a free quote on a secondary containment system that delivers results.
