Today's acoustic technology involves the use of sophisticated
polyurethane acoustic foams.
Acoustic foam reduces the
transmission of structural and airborne sound waves by
reducing the reflection from boundary surfaces,
therefore reducing the overall noise level. It
is designed to achieve maximum attenuation over a broad
frequency range. It uses a closed cell which has
excellent noise reduction capability, and will resist
moisture and mildew.
The expanded closed cell
structure makes it a great acoustic insulation as well
as an excellent thermal insulation (low K & high
R
values). The smooth integral skin provides a surface
that reduces moisture and dirt penetration, thus
reducing the potential for bacteria and mold growth. It
meets the requirements of ASTM C-411 and UL 181 (air
erosion and
mold growth). It is ideal for applications
that must be fiber free, cleanable, and abuse resistant.
There are thousands of applications and benefits of
using spray foam.
One only has to use the imagination to see the
possibilities.
Technology will always be evolving.
What does tomorrow hold....Who knows?
Rest assured...Polyurethane will
be the acoustic insulation of choice!
